A few words about yourself, maybe something that would improve your chances of getting a trial
I'm a civil servant from Sheffield in the UK, and I've been playing Warcraft on and off for almost 4 years now. I've been an avid gamer for many years now, and ever since I started playing online I've been well and truely hooked.

Why do you play World of Warcraft
Its probably the only game I've ever played where I have never run out of things to do. I also enjoy working together with guild mates to bring down new raid instances, and that feeling you get when you finally kill a boss after hours of attempts.

How many hours per week or day do you play world of warcraft?
Much less than I used to :P
1-5 hrs during the week, sometimes double that at the weekends, depending what else is going on.

Previous guilds
US-Dath'Remar: Spectral Brotherhood, Chocolate Fondue
US-Khaz'Goroth: Reliance
EU-Silvermoon: Obsidian

Reasons for leaving previous guild(s)
In all cases, progression, with the exception of Reliance, who I left as I needed a break from the game.
As for now, I am leaving Obsidian as the guildmaster decided to quit, and was followed by around half the guild, leaving it unable to raid.

Raiding experience: vanilla WoW, TBC, WOTLK
WoW: Only dinged just before TBC came out.
TBC: Kara, ZA, Gruul's, Mag, SSC, TK, MH, BT (all full clears), SWP (2/6)
WoTLK: Ulduar (most of it), ToTC 10/25 (cleared), ToTGC 10 (1/5)

Played as a Protection Warrior throughtout TBC on an Oceanic Server. Started by Raid leading a social guild through Kara before moving to a proper 25 man guild to raid SSC, TK and BT. Transferred to raid with a friend, before quitting about a month after SWP.
Recently came back, rerolled as a Druid, with the intention of healing, but fell back into tanking.

How well would you say you know your class? Can you give an example that could show your knowledge of a class like let's say a macro or a few keybinds?
I re-rolled as a Druid about 2 months ago, the first time that I had played the class. Since then I feel I have got a solid grasp of Feral Tanking, helped by most of my previous experience being as a Warrior Tank, and a decent idea of Feral DPS. My healing could do with some work, and I have yet to touch Balance.

Feral Tanking:
Shift to Bear and use Enrage, giving a decent amount of Rage.
While running in use Feral Faerie Fire (shift-4). Press Maul (2)
Upon reaching the boss, maul should hit, applying the Infected wounds debuff.
First GCD is Demoralising Roar (shift-2), unless someone else is applying an AP debuff. This should be reapplyed just before it falls off.
Standard rotation is Mangle (4), Lacerate (e), Lacerate (e), replacing auto-attacks with Mauls whenever above around 40 rage.
If more than one mob is being tanked, and there is no CC around, Lacerate is replaced with Swipe (3).

If an add needs to be picked up, taunt (r) followed by FFF and a charge to get hold of it. A Maul and Mangle combo to hold it once in range.

If nothing else needs to be tanked, shift to Cat.

Feral DPS:
FFF (shift-4) from a distance.
Mangle (2) and Rake (4) as first 2 attacks, followed by a Savage Roar (shift-r).
Shred to generate CPs (e).
Finishers other than SR only at 5 CPs.
Priority Order:
Savage Roar > Mangle (if no arms warrior) > Rake > Rip (r) > Ferocious Bite (3)

Swipe (shift-3) if aoe is required, but only if SR is up.

Tiger's Fury when low on energy, CDs as much as possible or timed with heroism, fight mechanics etc.

Why did you spec the way you did, why did you gem the way you did and why did you glyph the way you did?
My Primary spec is designed to give the best possible talents to reduce incoming damage and increase threat output. Imp. demo roar has been skipped as I find I rarely have to apply the debuff.

Secondary is either a full on Kitty DPS spec, when I am raiding, or a Resto spec if I feel like healing some heroics.

Gaming experience in general: What other games have you been/are playing and at what level?
Started with Master System and Gameboy, eventually moved on to PC games.
Focus has generally been on RPGs (eg. Baldur's Gate, Diablo) and Strategy (C&C through to Total War Series). I also play FPSs, including a fair amount of time playing the original Counterstrike online.

What's the status of your hardware? Does it allow you stable fps in raids? How's your connection? Is it stable for the duration of the raid?
Quad Core 2.33, 4GB RAM, Vista 64-bit, 1GB Radeon HD 4670
Connection is very good, at most 250ms during extremely hectic fights.
Worst I have seen is some slight fps loss during Onxyia 25 initial whelp spawn.

Reasons for applying to us
Progression. Icecrown is out soon, and I want to fight Arthas.

Taking into consideration what you know about the guild, how will you be able to contribute to our progress?
I turn up on time and prepared without fail, and I have around 3 years of tanking experience which I hope leads to me being able to read to course of a fight, and make any decisions that I have to to benefit the raid. I am a bit of a perfectionist, and I will keep plugging away at a fight until the boss goes down.

Anything we should know?
Nothing out of the ordinary that I can think of.

Pimp your cause
Unfortunately my fur coat and leopard print hat are at the dry-cleaners, so I will have to pass on this question for now.

Have you read the Read before applying topic?
Yes
